Memorial Day at Disneyland!

We were up early and ready for a fun day!  David was the first one ready and was enjoying his book while he waited on the rest of us.  We made sandwiches and packed up all our goodies and headed to the park.  What a fun day!  Grandma did the usual of getting fast passes while the others rode the rides I don't care for.  We didn't get a fast pass for Star Tours and we regretted it.  We will never ride that one again without a fast pass!  The wait time said 45 mins and we figured we could handle that.  It was well over an hour and by the time we got up to the front they took all the fast pass people.  Just kept taking them, not letting us in.  It was quite frustrating.  Other than that, all the rides were fun, we didn't feel that the park was any more crowded than normal.  We had worried that it would be because of the holiday.  Lilly and I rode Winnie the Pooh while the others did a ride we didn't want to do.  Then grandma bought everyone treats at my favorite Pooh Corner store.  Yum!  Love my dark chocolate and marshmallows! We did a lot of what we wanted to do that day and even stayed up for Paint the Night Parade!  We had the perfect spot right by Small World where the parade starts.  It was great! I took a picture of Nemo and Cars to show Zander.  Those are his favorites!  We saw the cutest baby Geese (or whatever kind of bird they are) over by Haunted Mansion.  There are actually Disney cast people that it is their job to follow them around and keep them protected from the guests.  Wow. Probably a good thing though, knowing how crazy some people are.  They give you info on the animals and told us that these babies were actually about "teenage" years.  Not new babies.  Later I happened to check my facebook and saw a comment by my niece Carissa that she was going to go kill time at Disneyland! (She lives right there and can go whenever she wants). So I messaged her and we arranged to meet over where we were eating lunch!  It was so fun to see her!  I can't remember the last time we saw her.  And of course we met her cute baby Parker.  He is almost a year old. Carissa and Amanda were born 2 days apart when we all lived in Mesa.  It was sure fun to see her and visit for awhile.  It is fun to see how the littles grow up and to watch them as a mom and how mature they are.  We are glad she caught up to us! We got back to the hotel late, but the kids were troopers!  They promised to be happy and wake up early for another fun day!
