Farnsworth Cousins and Zander...

On Saturday some of my cousins came over.  We have been trying to get together for awhile and it finally happened!  I didn't get a picture of Angela when she was here, and Jenni didn't make it...but we had a good time!  We wish more of our cousins could have joined us.  There are a couple more who live a little too far away to just come for an afternoon.  We missed them!  We ate dinner, visited, they taught me Mormon Bridge (very fun!) and more visiting and laughing!  Hope we can do it again soon!  Then I have to add a couple more pictures of Zander.  He really is just part of our family!  We had an outing at the park one day, he hated crawling in the grass.  He loves to dig into the big lego bin and shuffle those legos! Then throw them out of course.  He also loves to play my piano and has found a new way to reach the keys better (and the shutters which are fun to play with too)!

Mindi, Me, Kathy and LuAnne...no peeky round!

Soccer part two...

Just some more soccer pictures.  The boys are so cute!  I love seeing them play.  One teams' parents made a bridge for the boys to run through after the game...cute!  Sometimes they are pretty serious out there...but most of the time, just having fun!! I should mention that David's coach was our sweet friends Garry and Judy Guymon's son, and Jacob's coaches were a sweet girl and her dad.  How fun!

 Goal!

 Another goal!

Soccer part one...

The boys started soccer in May.  They have practices once a week and games every Saturday.  It is fun to watch them play!  One day it was such a sunny and beautiful day...we actually got a little sunburnt watching them!  Then the next week, it was cold and it rained!  We were shivering and wet by thte time it was all done.  Thankfully Jacob's team called the game a little early that day.  This is Jacob's first year and it was so fun to watch him.  He wasn't afraid of the ball or the other kids.  He would get right in there with the action.  He made several goals and would get a high five from the coach.  It was fun!  David was a good kicker but once he kicked it he would hold back a little.  It was fun to note in a lot of the pictures he kicked left-footed.  Grandpa and I both think that's cool (being lefties ourselves). In other pictures he kicked with his right foot.  By the end of the season they had both improved in their skills.  I think they had fun!  We appreciate their coaches and all the time spent helping them learn the sport.  Ashley was here for one of the games (one of the rainy ones!) and Grandpa forgot his hat one day when it was so sunny.  The mountains always look so pretty in the background and on the very rainy day, they looked especially pretty with the new snow up there!  This is just a collection of pictures from some of their games, rain and shine.  More pictures in the next post!

Memorial Day Hike...

Our goal this year is to climb Mt. Timpanogos when Joel returns from his mission.  We know that we need to GET IN SHAPE!!!  So we are ready to start hiking ALL SUMMER in prepration for it.  I said we needed to start out slow...so we did our FIRST hike of the season and I said I would hike for about an hour.  We went to Grove Creek.  Well, let's just say I was "pushed" further and further...to where we hiked for TWO hours up to the very big creek with it's cold and fast flowing water!  It was great to get there, but after that long of a hike and the hour it took to hike back down, I was useless for the rest of the day!  My legs were ACHING!  My bum leg was swollen and I literally sat around with my feet up for pretty mjch the rest of the day!  I am glad we did it, but we really need to start out a LITTLE SLOWER and work our way up to the harder hiking.  The kids did great!  Nate and Lilly joined us.  We stopped at the "Bench" where I was promised the creek was just around the corner.  And it was!  I sure wish we would have had a sandwich to eat at the creek!  That would have been better.  And I would have planned better had I known we would be hiking that long!  ha!  We went back to the bench where Jacob let me take his picture.  It was cold!  There was a little bike for two made out of some kind of metal with a dedication sign by it.  It was cute.  After our hike back down, we stopped at Chubby's on the way home to get our nourishment.  It definitely made me feel better!  Here are a ton of pictures of our scenic hike.  It really was pretty.  One of these days we will be able to hike the whole loop all the way around the mountain to Battle Creek Falls.  Someday...
