Anyone need a file?

So I took some pics today at work...to document what it is I do everyday...it is boring, so I won't blame you if you stop looking right now!
This is the table where I STAND and punch holes in papers, sign my initials and date on the back of EVERY paper and put them in a folder inside one of these "red jackets" in date order. It's especially fun when secretaries send filing from like 2006 and you have to pull ALL the papers out and put them all in the right order...yeah, fun stuff... When I speak of "buckets of filing" the black bin there with papers in it, that's a bucket.
This is Megan who absolutely makes me laugh and helps me endure my day. She will be leaving us soon to get married and start a teaching career...I will miss her bubbly personality! She loves to pose for the camera...

This is the front of the file room. Carts with files going in and out..these desks are where files get checked in and checked out and created. (I used to SIT at one of those desks!) This is also where all the filing is sorted into the buckets. That is Ruth hiding her face with papers when she saw me get out the camera! Monica isn't turning around either!

This is looking down one of the file rows. That is Ruth demonstrating how short people like her and I get files off the top shelf! (I am too lazy to get the step stool).

This is from the front of the file room looking down the aisle where we stand at our tables and work. At least they were kind enough to put carpeting in before I came back. It used to be just ugly old linoleum! So there you have it...a day in the life of ME in the file room. Chained to a table, but at least the table has wheels! I can move it closer to the rows where I need to pull files and spare my legs a LITTLE. :)

I will survive!

Well, I made it through my second day back at work. I think I will survive! It's been a little surreal being there again, and I am so amazed at how things come back to me after almost 2 years of being away. My boss has been real nice and is letting me ease my way back in. Today he even told me to come and "rest your buttons" and let me sit down to do some work for awhile. I had told him how yesteday I had to go home and put my feet up because my legs and feet were so tired! It is boring work, but it is a job and the people are nice. I am just grateful to HAVE employment and I will just go in thinking positive everyday. They took my picture and sent it on an e-mail to everyone in the firm...now THAT was embarrassing...and then one of the receptionists called to "interview" me for the weekly newsletter. Yikes. I like staying hidden under my rock! Anyway, thank you all for your calls and e-mails wishing me luck and checking on how I did. I have a great support group and I thank you all!

A note on pay it forward...

I did not make up this game so may not have interpreted it right, but I believe EACH time you comment on a pay it forward post, you are agreeing to post it on your own blog and make three gifts. So if you have commented on more than one Pay It Forward blog (say 3) then you must post it three times and make 9 gifts. Does that make sense? That is how I understand it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong! Since Robin is now on her second post, I am assuming that is correct. Just trying to help clarify as some people have had questions...enjoy and pay it forward!

I have played the game...and am waiting for my treat. :) Now I'm posting it to see who will win MY three handmade items...I'm pretty sure #1 will be ROBIN, cuz she is ALWAYS the first to post ANYWHERE. :) The lady never sleeps and LIVES on her computer! you go girl!

Pay It Forward Rules

2. Winners must post this challenge on their blog, meaning that they will Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift -anything!- for the first THREE bloggers who leave a comment on their post about this giveaway!
3. The gift that you send to your friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: It’s the Spirit and the Thought That Count!

Long weekend

Amanda sewed this cute apron for herself...
David and Joel playing the clapping game...

Feeding the ducks on a cold day!

David helping me rearrange my cupboard...

Yes, we begin a long weekend today. It is especially long because it is soooo quiet here now! We miss little David crawling around here making us smile! They made it home to GA safely and I hope Amanda blogs about her trip and Matthew Broderick giving her his seat on the tram! :) We know they are happy to be home and that Dale is happy to have them there! David was so excited to get home with his daddy and to play with all his toys. Amanda said he was just going crazy playing with EVERYTHING. He should have been so tired from traveling all day, but he got his second wind and was making them laugh. I'm sure their own beds felt really good! Here are a few pics from more of our fun while they were here! happy weekend all my blogging friends!

Extreme bathroom makeover...

David flossed his teeth while we decorated...
My wonderful interior designer...

The finished (almost!) product....

okay, it's not THAT extreme, but I totally changed the boys bathroom from red, white and blue lighthouse nautical theme to DOTS. Bright green and blue. Then Amanda stenciled it for me. I still have to put something in the frames I painted to match and need to find a circle mirror or clock or something that I can paint. Then it will have some things on the wall and be REALLY done. the pic doesn't show the dotted accessories very well (toothbrush holder, soap dispenser and q-tip cup) nor does it show the fluffy shaggy rugs in the lime green and turquoise...of course the towels match too so it's pretty bright! Gotta make sure those boys are AWAKE in the morning.

Bathtub Alphabet time...

David is learning his alphabet...in the bathtub!
Mostly he's learning that the letters stick to him good!
It's a fun game! He's a smart boy and will learn those letters before we know it! He loves his bath and loves playing with his momma. It is sure fun having him here - his momma is sick tonight and we hope it passes quickly so we can keep having fun!

Sunday Music...

David loves to play the piano! I hope he will still want to when he is older! He plays us some lovely melodies while we all clap and cheer for him. Sure is fun having him here to visit!
