We will finish up April with some cute pics of Walter. He is my sunshine every day! He likes to talk to Grandpa through the baby gate, and he also likes to try and open it. Thankfully he can't! He loves to play the piano and walk all over with his pushing toy (not walking by himself yet), and he's always a big help with the laundry! It's the last day of the month and the tulip festival will soon be over so Dave and I went to check it out. Amazing how much more tulips there were than two weeks ago. Wish Aunt Bev could see it now. What a difference! It was all beautiful and we had fun just walking at a leisurely pace and enjoying it all. April has been a great month!

Happy 60th Dave!
We had fun celebrating Dave's 60th birthday! The Winieckes happened to be in town so they got to join us! They made a cute candy bar poster. I made a timeline which was a fun project and we put it up in the wall at the restaurant (Wallabys). Neil and Jan Budge joined us, Randa, Carson and Jackson came (Eric and the others had other stuff going on), John and April came, Joel and Kristen, and Amanda and the kids (Nate had class). It was a fun group and we had great food, presents and of course a costco cake! Amanda was the only one who got a picture of that! So I "borrowed" it from her instagram page. We love our husband, dad and grandpa! Can't believe you are 60! We had friends and family write down memories of Dave and I put them into a little book for him. Happy Birthday!

Spring...
When it's a lovely spring day you get everyone outside to spring clean! Jacob and Lilly worked hard cleaning out the chicken coops while David mowed the huge lawn. Grandpa and Amanda helped everyone and Grandma supervised and took pictures. Actually, Grandpa also worked on a chicken coop project, making new frames for the chicken run. Nate worked on a welding project in the garage. After all the work was done, we went to Tucanos for Nate and Dave's birthday dinner! Their birthdays are 2 days apart and they get to eat free! We always love to go and stuff ourselves there. It was a productive and fun day! Happy Birthday to Nate Today!
Always love to celebrate with this guy...and Walter was pretty cute too!

Snow and derby time...
All that crazy wind brought a storm in. We got a touch of snow. YAY! We have not had near enough snow this year (both for my liking and for the moisture we need). It has averaged snowing once a month since December. We need more! We have been praying for it and had a special fast too. It is much needed. Also tonight was David's pinewood derby. As you can see, he was a fast blur when it was his time to race! His car did pretty good. It is always fun to watch those races. This will be his last pinewood derby as he will be 11 next year and moves into scouts. Can't believe how fast he is growing up!

Tulip Festival...
I invited Aunt Bev to come up to go to the tulip festival with me. I got my accomplice Teresa to get her up here (She is Bev's daughter-in-law) and Teresa's daughter Bridget would meet us as she is at school in Salt Lake. Aunt Bev tried several ways and times to get out of coming, but we made her do it! I had tickets to the Jordan River Temple open house and we could get lunch in between. We rented a golf cart so she wouldn't have to walk at the festival. It turned out to be a disappointing day. It was very windy and there were hardly any tulips out! As you can see by the picture...so disappointing! It's always so beautiful! And it just got windier as we went on. I made her get out and walk through the Light of the World statues of Christ. She did love that part and Bridget took pictures of every statue for her. Then we drove to Kneaders, she has never eaten there but I had a menu printed out so she could see it before we got there (new things are scary for her) and it was even more windy! I could not believe how windy it was. Then we drove over to the open house and it had been closed down! The massive winds had knocked over all their tents and caused a lot of trouble so they closed down. I said good bye to them and they went on to the mall for her make-up and the drive home. She told me it was a lovely day but I know better. It took so much to get her up here, I don't know if we can do it again, but I really want her to come another time when ALL the tulips are out! Walter was the perfect little guy for the entire adventure!

It snowed again...yay!
Yesterday it started to snow! We were so excited! The boys didn't mind at all as they still played out on the trampoline. Today we woke up to beautiful white everywhere! And the scene when I picked the kids up from school today was so pretty. It is my mom's birthday today. The lovely scenes make me think of her and I am happy she is "warm" in heaven. She never did like the snow, but I love it. I do miss her every day. She would have been 84.

Cove Fort...
On our way home from Bryce Canyon we stopped at Cove Fort. It has been many years since I was here. It was just as amazing as I remember. I love seeing history! The quilts and the clothing and how they lived back then. Always interesting! In one of the rooms the missionary guide asked is we could see any ways they got light in that room. Lilly spoke right up and said, "The Book of Mormon!" (There was one sitting on one of the tables). Sometimes she amazes us with her great answers! The missionary agreed that it is certainly a point of light! Then we talked about the other things like candles, windows and lanterns. But I like Lilly's answer best! The guide then gave each of the kids a wooden button on a string to play with. We had a great ride home and were glad we got to see so many things during this spring break!
