Two years ago...

Two years ago today, my beautiful mother went to a reunion in Heaven. I cannot believe it has been two years already...time sure flies! It was hard to let her go, but imagining her reuniting with my dad, with my sister (who passed away at the age of 2) and with her parents and siblings and other ancestors who have gone on before, is very beautiful. And knowing that she is free of this mortal life and it's pains and cares, makes it all bearable. I am grateful for my knowledge of the Plan of Salvation, and I know that I will see her and others of my family one day. Love and miss you Mom!

Betty Crocker move over!

I got the sweetest surprise Sunday morning! I have to back up and tell a little story that happened a few months ago...I was chatting with Cupcake Stef who had made biscuits and gravy for her family. I told her that was my FAVORITE breakfast but that no one in my house will eat them so we never have them. If we ever go to IHOP or someplace like that, I order biscuits and gravy! Well, she remembered my story and showed up at my door with HOMEMADE, WARM, biscuits and gravy!!! She even kneaded the biscuits by hand, no mixer. Now that is LOVE...and she brought them to me! That she even remember that conversation from so many months ago...wow. Can you imagine my surprise when I opened the door? Cupcake Stef makes more than cupcakes! And the things she makes are DELICIOUS!!!! Thank you so much Stef for making my day!!! You are awesome!!!

Yummy biscuits....just waiting for that delicious gravy...

Here it is! YAY!! Very yummy!!! (I saved one for the next day - double pleasure!)
Thank you again Stef...love ya!

Georgia Day 8...and done...

Well, all good things must come to an end I suppose...our vacation has been very fun and memorable! We will miss these little faces but are so grateful we got to spend some time with them. It was hard to say goodbye and get on a plane...but we had to. Thank you Dale, Amanda, David and Jacob for a wonderful 8 days!!!

This tiny little face will be missed by Grandma! He is a beautiful and very good baby!
Sisters! Aren't they beautiful? I always wonder how I got such beautiful children!

Grandma with a yawning Jacob. Guess he is tired of all this picture taking! Wow...Georgia and my hair do NOT get along!

Our grandkids! They are adorable! (Even when they are being naughty...which is hardly ever...right?) We will miss all your singing and dancing little David!

Grandpa with little Jacob...

The Stewart family! They are darling and we will miss y'all!!

Uncle Joel!
Auntie Ashwee!

The blanket we "almost" got done for Jacob. The binding is all pinned on and ready for Amanda to sew. Grandma just ran out of time! This was a learning project and if I ever try one again, it will be better I'm sure...

David studying the ads...he's going to be a smart shopper! What fun we had in Georgia! The plane ride home was long...but we did run into Clovis friends in the Atlanta airport who were riding our same flight home! How about that? Sis. Barnes and Sis. Zarco and Diane Zarco...they had been at Ft. Benning where their grandbaby girl was born two weeks ago! (Sis. Barnes' son and Sis. Zarco's daughter just had their third child). Such an amazing coincidence! All us grandmas on the same flight! We did make it home safe and sound...albeit late. Thanks to Clif for being there right on time to pick us up! Oh, getting up for work this morning was NO FUN. But it was a great vacation and I will hang onto pictures and memories until the next time we can get together (Christmas!).

Georgia Day 7...

Our vacation is almost over...but we have one last full day to play! We got ready in the morning to go swimming. There association has a private pool and we were the only ones there! School started here two weeks ago...Dale was going to take Ashley and Joel to Six Flags...but guess what...they were CLOSED! Only open on Saturdays and Sundays in August. We thought that was very strange, but it's also strange that they start school so early...it started a whole week before we got here!
Here's David ready to walk to the pool!
Walking to the pool...
David is a little fish! he loves the water!

Grandpa and Grandma even got their toes wet...

Joel and Ashley had some races and did some splashing...

Uncle Joel and David swimming in the big pool...

Dale and Amanda catching a few rays in between the clouds...

David back in his private pool with Grandpa David looking on...

David and his daddy swingin' after their swim...

Baby Jacob chillin' out...he is a doll!! Such a good baby...

In the afternoon the guys went to a dollar movie and the girls went to the mall! (with David and Jacob, who are technically considered "guys")...
David loved the Disney store! He found a Tigger as big as him! He loved everything in the store! His mommy bought him two new pairs of sunglasses because they were on sale...he's a cool dude in his Wall-E sunglasses and/or his Micky Mouse sunglasses...

Auntie Ashley liked the giant Nemo animal...David held the Tigger and the Mater...

This evening David hurt his nose when he was building block towers with Auntie Ashwee, so he got the bean bag out of the freezer...it was easier to put it on the table and rest his nose in it than to hold the bean bag against his face...
We had costco pizza for dinner and enjoyed a relaxing evening at home. Amanda and Grandma ALMOST have the baby quilt done. Amanda will have to sew the binding on after we leave tomorrow. It is all pinned in place. (pictures tomorrow).
We cannot believe our time to leave is arriving...we have had so much fun and it will be hard to say goodbye and get on that LONG plane ride home...Love Georgia and LOVE OUR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS!!! So glad Joel and Ashley got to come with us. Fun vacation!

Georgia Day Six...

Okay, my brain is definitely on vacation! My pictures are in backwards order and a little jumbled up...oh well...here's what we did on our Sunday in Georgia. We actually got up and ready on time for 9 a.m. church...Amanda felt good enough to go for Sacrament meeting. It was fun to go to another ward across the county and see how much the church is the same. They even do congregational hymns on High Council Sunday! (a peculiar little gripe of mine...oh well) But it was very fun to hear people speaking with their Georgia accent! We had a simple sandwich lunch and played Mexican Train, had some nice visiting time and a walk by the little creek out behind the Stewart's back yard. A quiet and nice day. Grandpa got the baby swing working (YAY!) and Baby Jacob loves it.

Grandpa and David coming back up the path from our walk...

Throwing rocks into the creek and making big splashes!

Our Mexican train game...

Joel walked with us too...and David wore his favorite green boots!

So fun to see David and little David together... :)

Looking across the creek...dirty water!

more Mexican train...David was making the trains say "choo choo" and singing and just helping us all have a good time!

David held the trains for us...

Getting ready to play games...

Jacob enjoying his swing (purchased at a yard sale for 10 bucks!) while we played our game...

Grandma and Jacob having some bonding time. :)

Jacob after church, hungry and tired... but so cute in his little outfit! He did sleep through church and is still such a good little baby. This kind of face is rare...loving my time here...it is going to be over too soon!!

Georgia Day Five...

Today was another relaxing day in Georgia...we slept in again (this is getting to be a BAD habit!) then spent a leisurely morning playing with the grandkids and making breakfast. I started sewing on the baby blanket Amanda and I are making, and I got some good reading done while they had relatives here visiting and meeting Jacob.

Here is David being a sweet big brother to his "baby brudder" as he calls Jacob...

They are both just too precious for words!

David and Grandpa built big block towers...sadly I did not get Joel in the pictures...he was helping too and was wearing a construction hat like David's...he did a good job avoiding my camera...

then Joel and David played with Ashley's itouch...it has just been a fun day! Then to top it all off we went out to dinner to a place called Dreamland BBQ
Joel and Ashley waiting for dinner...

Ashley sharing her ice with David...this kept him quite entertained most of the evening!

Dale and Amanda...

and sweet Jacob who slept through dinner, allowing his Mama to eat. Yay...

Allyson and Dave enjoying their night out with the family...

And here's our yummy food! David ate every last bite of that macaroni and cheese as well as some of Ashley's! Dale and Amanda had the big BBQ pork sandwiches...

Trust me, they were HUGE...and the fries were very good too!

And on the way home...I found Avonlea...wow. Another great day in Georgia! Dale was kind enough to take Ashley and Joel to the mall...Ashley got her new iphone so she is a happy camper!
