Memorial Day...

We went out on Sunday before the Memorial Day holiday to put flowers out. We went to the Provo cemetery and put flowers on Dave's Aunt and Uncle's (His mom's sister) graves. Then we went out to Redwood Estates and Eric and Kai met us there. Randa and the other kids were sick. Eric and Kai cleaned up Mom and Dad's headstones and Lori's. They looked really nice! And the little Lori by ours that I usually put a flower or two on, had a vase of flowers by it for the first time that I have ever seen. That made me so happy. It was a beautiful day and I was so happy to see all the beautiful flowers everywhere.

Dance Festival 2018...

Walter and I went to the kids' school to watch their Dance Festival. It's always fun to go and see them perform. Walter was well behaved and enjoyed the outing. Jacob's class danced to "Life is a Highway," David's class danced to "Hit the Road Jack," and Lilly's class danced to Yellow Submarine. Great dancing kids!! We know how hard you have been working and it was fantastic!

Joel is 23!

Can't believe our little Joel is 23 today! He has been home almost three years from his mission and is engaged to Kristen...life is going good for him! He picked Brick Oven Pizza for his dinner and delicious birthday treat! I only seemed to get a picture of Amanda and Walter, but all the family was there! Then we came home and opened presents. We had fun celebrating Joel! Happy Birthday son!

Clif's graduation...

I was nervous about nose bleeds the morning of the graduation, but all was well.  I had tons of tissues in my purse just in case! Lindsay had saved us seats, Joel and Kristen, Ashley and Kristen, Clark, and me and Dave. Everything looked very nice. It was a great ceremony for this inaugural class of California Health Sciences University. It was especially great to see Clif get hooded (or robed, or whatever they call it!). We took some pictures afterwards. It was a great morning! Joel and Kristen left for home, We took Ashley, Kristen and Clark to lunch at Dai Ichi. Clif and Lindsay went to set up for their party at the park. They had pizza and pop and a bounce house for kids. We stopped by there after our lunch and visited with a few old friends. That was fun. It was great to see all his friends that came to support him. We were glad we could be there even though it was a fast trip and I had the nosebleed of a lifetime. (I seriously have never had a nosebleed that I remember!). That evening we went to Sweet Tomatoes and came back and played cards just like the good ol' days! Dave and I drove home Sunday. What a whirlwind weekend but well worth it! We will be anxious to hear how Clif does on his state and national boards to make him an official pharmacist!

 Our Doctor of Pharmacy!

My kids! Minus Amanda...always one missing!

California road trip...

We always know we are in California when we see all the windmills near Tehachapi! Joel and Kristen joined Dave and I on our trip for Clif's graduation from pharmacy school. It was a quick trip but very worth it! We stayed with our friends the Winieckes (Kristen stayed with us and Joel stayed at Clif's) who treated us very well!  Meals out, homemade meals, donuts, and of course a batch of Bishop Dan's fruit leather to bring home. Dave had to do some business at the bank and the DMV so he dropped me off at Teri's to hang out with her for the day.  She fed us lunch first and then he went on his errands.  Kent came home for lunch to be with us too.  It was great seeing the Stringhams again! And we had to take a pic of Joel and Logan...friends since kindergarten! I felt some kind of cold coming on as we were driving to California. It might have been some kind of allergy but I wanted to feel good so my dr had said I can take nyquil so I figured dayquil was okay too. I took it in the morning and was definitely feeling better!  By the time Teri and I got back in the afternoon from taking her grandson to preschool and a trip to Smart and Final for my Torani syrups (I always pick up a bunch when I am in Clovis) I started a nose bleed. Let me tell you, it would not stop! I must have used a million of her tissues and we tried several things to get it to stop and it wouldn't! I was so embarrassed. Dave came to get me and it was still dripping. Not as bad, and slowing down. But this had been going on for quite some time! Well, it finally seemed to have stopped so we said goodbye and went back to the Winieckes. We were planning to go out to Sweet Tomatoes but my nose started bleeding again!  We could not get it stopped.  Ann was calling instacare to see if I could get in, but they weren't "set up" for that kind of treatment and suggested the ER. Well Ashley was working the ER and I REALLY didn't want to go so I texted her and told her the problem.  She said the ER was really busy but a nurse told her what to tell me to do. In the meantime, Dan ordered pizza as I wasn't going to be going anywhere. We jammed tissue up in my nose and pinched the bridge as hard as I could stand. It worked! I was still nervous all night that it would start again and especially that I might bleed on Ann's pillows! Since I am on coumadin I will never take dayquil again! We watched a movie and then prepared for our busy graduation day the next day. Dave and I went to Dai Ichi for our favorite Teriyaki bowls, Ashley and Kristen joined us (this was after graduation). Joel and Kristen were going to drive our car back (the Toyota that we were getting back from Clif) so they left right after the graduation to drive as far as St. George and stay with her aunt, then on home Sunday. Graduation pictures next!

Miss Lilly turns 9...

We can't believe she is 9 already! Lilly chose Olive Garden for her dinner. Joel and Kristen joined us too. We had a fun evening. Only got one picture of her eating her dessert! (and being silly about it). We love this little ball of fire. She is a challenge sometimes, but can be as sweet as anything when she wants to be. She is very creative and artistic. Happy Birthday Lilly!  We love you!

BYU Women's conference...

May always starts out my favorite way! Miss Donna (Miller) flies in from Cali, Miss Kelly (Laing) and Sister Randa (Farnsworth) join us and we attend BYU Women's Conference together. It is always just the best weekend! This year we decided to rent an air bnb close to campus where we could just have a great girls weekend. We rented an apt called the BYU Bungalow. It was so cute! Donna and Kelly fixed our dinner one night and Randa and I fixed it another night. We enjoyed one meal at Brick Oven Pizza as well. Donna and I were the first ones there on Wednesday and we had time to kill so we decided to go to the BYU Bookstore.  There was hardly anyone there!  It was the perfect time for shopping! We loved all our classes and opening and closing sessions.  The closing speaker was originally going to be Elder Nelson and his wife, but seeing as he was made the PROPHET this year, the closing speakers were Elder Gong and his wife.  One of the new apostles.  It was great!  We always enjoy this weekend and this tradition. I think we will make renting an apt the new tradition to our tradition! We also went to the Provo City Center Temple on Saturday.  Randa left Friday night because she needed to be home for Saturday.  We missed her being with us for the temple.  Anyway, a great weekend and I love these ladies and our tradition!! And the best part of the weekend....Joel and Kristen came over to show us her diamond!  They got engaged right before her graduation from Utah Valley University with her MBA! A perfect day! He proposed on a hike, then they had graduation, then they came over to show us the ring!
