Anne of Green Gables Day ~ 2009

It's summertime and that means time for my annual Anne of Green Gables day! I love to get out my projects (scrapbooking, cardmaking, crocheting, whatever!) and have a 6 hour marathon...(I didn't like the last movie so I never watch that one!) feel free to join me! Saturday, August 1st starting at 1 p.m. Bring a potluck and a project as we go back in time to Prince Edward Island and relive the adventures of Anne with an E. Camp Pictures...

Here's a few of my favorite pics from camp...some I "borrowed" from some other people, but most are mine! I have a ton more...but just not enough room here! Watch for the upcoming camp DVD at the post camp fireside! It was an awesome camp...we are still talking about it...and still trying to recover from it! :) The lack of sleep that is...I'm sure the girls have all recovered fine...it's us old leaders!!!

Beautiful Huntington Lake

Girls camp this year was "fantabulous" as the girls like to say! It was fun, spiritiual, and a perfect camp experience. We had wonderful leaders, classes, and YCL's, skits were delightful (Leah Burnett, you made me laugh so hard I about wet my pants!!!) and on bishop's night we had a faith walk and testimony meeting that capped it all off perfectly. Our Priesthood brethren started camp off on a spiritual note - Bro. Kennington dedicating the camp, and Bro. Burnett giving us a FHE lesson on how committed are you (the pig or the chicken - Ham and eggs). The spirit was so strong - we love our priesthood guys! They are the best! The solo experience is always a good thing for the girls, as well as sunrise scriptures, and night hikes to see the stars, and some words from our stake president on testimony night was wonderful too. (we did however miss Pres. Matsunaga - it wasn't the same without him!).

I posted more pictures on facebook, and may do some on my blog later, but right now I have laundry calling my name! My own bed felt downright good last night, but I would not trade my sleepless girls camp nights...it was a privilege and honor to be there and to serve with such wonderful women and to be around all those beautiful daughters of God! Here is my favorite quote from camp - from Sis. Gage's class (hers and Sis. Carter's classes were both awesome!)...

Sis. Hinckley said, "We are God's children, and if we ever got that through our heads thoroughly and understood that completely, we would never do a small thing, we would never say a cross word. We would not use bad language. We would not criticize anybody. We would love everyone the way the Savior loves us. 'As I have loved you, love one another.' "

August Evening Book Club - Summer Movie
