BYU Graduation day two...

Friday morning.  Early to the Wilkinson center!  The Convocation started at 8 a.m.!  This was just the colleges of Physical and Mathematical Sciences so it was a much smaller crowd.  There were a few speakers (including two from the graduating class) and then the presentation of diplomas.  There were a few Doctorates given out, and then several Masters Degrees before the Bachelors.  It was fun waiting and watching for Amanda! It was also fun to hear several students from "other" colleges because they were walking with their husband or wife, or a sibling. I loved that!  The pictures from my phone are a little blurry.  We met our graduate in the garden court after.  Now it is all over and she is officially official!  Nate had to get to class (at UVU) so he wasn't able to stick around after with us for pictures. We took several pictures around campus and then there was a reception in the Talmage building (in the math lab where she spent many hours)!  This is also the building she scrubbed bathrooms in during the wee morning hours her freshman year!  We finished the morning by taking pictures out on the Y mound by the football stadium (a painted Y on the grass) and by the Cougar.  There was a waiting line to take pictures by the cougar.  Popular picture spot!  We walked across the street to take a few pictures by the BYU sign and that was where Amanda said she was supposed to give her white stole to someone who she was grateful to for helping her get to this point.  She put it on me.  Bring on the ugly tears!  I was so astonished.  It made us both cry and the picture shows it! (not my best picture! Plus it was a windy day!).  Her and Nate had already given me a "thank you" gift of a new set of pans - a beautiful large set of Emeril pans!  That was enough of a thank you and more than I needed.  The gratitude stole was a beautiful surprise.  We then walked back for her to turn her gown in - she gets to keep the cap and tassle - and I took one last picture of her walking away.  I think it's one of my favorite pictures!  Congratulations Amanda!  We love you, we support you and we are so proud of this huge accomplishment!  We knew you could do it!! Lots of pictures now...
There was this Irish group playing songs before it started, then they did a special number during the Convocation.  They were really good!

Taking a group selfie with Y mountain in the background!

Another college graduate in the family!
