Jacob's birthday...continued!

Jacob turned 3 on August 6th...I posted a few pictures that day of his morning presents.  Then that evening Amanda and I took Jacob and David to the mall.  We had Chick-fil-a for dinner (Jacob's choice!) where he got a cool cow watch.  He still wears it!  Then we took them to the play place in the mall.  What a fun play place!  A big tree house with a slide, and really cute lights that look like acorns!  There is also a big dinosaur they played on and a log tunnel they ran through.  I could hardly get any pictures of them because they were so busy having fun!  Clif, Lindsay, Grandpa and Joel had all left early that morning so it was just the four of us left to have some fun.  

 Then Saturday was his actual "party!"  It was a "Froo Froo party."  Froo froo is his little blue and white dog that he can't live without!  When he was asked what kind of party he wanted, he simply stated, "A Froo Froo party!" His mom made the cutest Froo Froo cake and cupcakes with blue paw prints on them!  We had a backyard BBQ and water party (pool and slip-n-slide) with our Farnsworth cousins and a few of Amanda's local friends and their children.  It was a successful and fun party!

 Amanda decorated and Eric was our grill sergeant!  (I love that he has Dad's old Grill Sergeant apron!) He filled in for Dave and we appreciate it!  The food was great!  He also brought some bottle rockets to launch and thanks to little Jackson for bringing his pool to share with us!

 The cake and ice cream was a hit, and of course there were a few more presents!  Happy 3rd birthday Jacob!  We all love you!!

Lindon Days...

August 2-10 was Lindon Days.  We only knew this because a brochure came in the mail with all the activities scheduled for each day.  Thankfully we are a "postal customer" and got one in the mailbox!  On Monday, it was free admission to the Lindon Aquatic park!  Of course we all went to that!  Jacob was only content in the wading pool, he stayed there most of the time.  Grandma enjoyed hanging out there with him.  We did the lazy river once, but he didn't really like that.  David loved going down the big slide with his mommy, or Clif or Lindsay.  He also enjoyed the hot tub.  We were glad Clif and Lindsay were with us for one more day so they could come.  There was a rubber ducky race down the lazy river, it was fun to watch from the bridge above.  Blue and pink duckies everywhere! What a fun water park!  It's not that expensive on a regular day, so we will be going back!  And it's practically down the street from our house.  A 5 minute ride at most!

 On Wednesday night at the little park right by our house, they had a Huck Finn Fishing event.  They blocked up the little creek and filled it with fish!  You could fish with a pole for 30 minutes, then they pulled down the caution tape and you could get fish any way you wanted!  There were kids in there with baskets, buckets, nets, and grocery bags!  Yes, plastic grocery bags they filled with fish!  The only rule was you had to take home what you caught!  We watched all the fun and enjoyed the free shaved ice (with ice cream in the bottom!) and the boys played on the playground.  It was a fun evening, we wish Grandpa, Joel, Clif and Lindsay could have been with us, but they had all left town the morning before!

 There were other events during the week, but we just weren't able to go to all of them.  We will be more prepared next year and ready to attend!  They have a mini rodeo, a pinewood derby, pet show, flag retirement ceremony, old time fair, parade and concerts just to name a few!  The last night they had a fireworks show.  It was at a park down around the corner from our house...so we had the perfect seats on our back porch!  We could see them launching off and then watch them big and bold in the sky...it was so loud!  The sounds were echoing off the canyon walls and it was an amazing show!  They started it way too late for our liking, it was dark at least an hour before they finally started.  The boys were already in bed.  David wasn't asleep so we got him up...Jacob was just about asleep and didn't want to come out.  It was a great ending to the fun week we had!  We are liking Lindon!

Happy Birthday Ashley!

I cannot believe my firstborn is 30 today!  Seems like yesterday they said, "It's a girl!" and our lives were changed forever.  We love you so much Ashley and the beautiful woman you have become...We hope you have a wonderful birthday and Dad and Joel will be in town with you soon to take you to dinner! I hope you are enjoying the gifts I left with you before we moved. Love and miss you baby girl!!  

Skookies!

Tuesday morning Dad and Joel left for Clovis and Clif and Lindsay left for Texas...so Monday night we had to make Skookies!  (Skillet cookies) or Pizookies as we like to call them (pizza cookies).  They are chocolate chip cookies made in little cast iron skillets and not quite cooked all the way, and served hot with a scoop of ice cream on top!  Contrary to some of the looks on these faces...everyone enjoyed them and it was a fun treat on our last evening all together.  You can also see that some of them got some extra sun as "Lindon Days" started this week and we went to the water park.  There will be a post about that upcoming...we love our skookies!

I Love to See the Temple...

Sunday after church we took a drive up to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.  It was a beautiful sunny day and only about a 10 minute drive.  Everyone looked sharp from being in their Sunday best (the boys were in their nice bow ties their mommy made for them) and Clif and Lindsay were with us so it was a fun little outing...the flowers were gorgeous, the temple is a beautiful sight, and the grounds were empty and peaceful...we were the only ones there!  The gates were open so we could go all the way around...what a beautiful day!  We are grateful to have a temple so close by and I am grateful for my eternal family!  Enjoy these beautiful pictures (and lots of 'em!).
