McKinney Gathering 2016

Our McKinney Reunion become a McKinney "Gathering" as it would be called in Scotland. July 2nd. Barbara and Matt flew out from CA, Mike and Margie were living here but are soon moving to New Mexico, Susan and her grandson drove down from Idaho, Mark and Judy drove from CA, Gail and Roland drove from Arizona and John and Dave live here. Steve, who lives in Indiana, couldn't make it. Barbara had 7 of her 8 children here. It was awesome! We had put together a "Memories of Grandpa" book for her as it would be their anniversary in a few days and Terry's birthday this month. We wanted her to have happy thoughts of him. Everyone wrote some of their favorite memories of Terry and some of us added pictures too. It turned out really great. I wish EVERYONE would have sent a page in, but that is hard to make happen with such a large family. We asked and asked, but didn't get as many as we hoped for. We just had a barbecue at the park and enjoyed the afternoon visiting away! The kids all played some fun outdoor games and even little Johnny who had a broken leg, was included by sweet cousins and even cousins that didn't know him, were right there to make sure he was involved. It was really cute. Kirsten's baby Mae was one of the youngest ones there and a real cutie. There was lots of good food and lots of fun. We were very happy that Clif and Lindsay drove up to be with us. A long drive for a quick weekend, but we loved having them here! Amanda and Nate's family were gone to Georgia so Clif and Lindsay got their room and Barbara had Lilly's room. It was a busy but fun weekend! I will put all the family group pictures at the end of this post.
